Flexible Nanny Needed for West Village Family with Occasional Stays in East Hampton!

Compensation $30-$33/hour (an approximate 95k-110k annualized salary) OT, and travel bonus. Additional benefits include 1 week of paid time off,  5 sick days, 8 paid holidays, and an end-of-year bonus. Specific terms will be discussed further with qualified candidates.

Role: Our agency is actively seeking a highly capable and dedicated Nanny who is eager to take on a multifaceted role as a Family Assistant for a West Village family with two children ages 3, 16 months, and a newborn due August 2024. This role is perfectly suited for a self-motivated individual who excels in a dynamic environment, managing a broad range of responsibilities from childcare to household management.

Start Date: June 2024

Schedule: The position requires summer travel, as the family resides in West Village during the academic year and in East Hampton during the summer months. Mon-Fri 50-55 hours a week with flexibility for some later weeknights, weekends, and travel days/overnights in East Hampton.

Required:

  • The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional nanny experience (applicants without 3+ years are welcome to apply).

  • Must have experience working with infants and toddlers.

  • Will travel to East Hampton where the family spends part of the summer.

  • Must be able to Swim without the aid of a flotation device.

  • Must have a clean and established driving record and be comfortable driving children in a family-provided car.

  • Proven ability to handle the care of several children at the same time.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports with household tasks (grocery shopping, cooking, errand running, laundry, assisting in household projects as needed, oversight of cleaning lady, deliveries, etc.

  • Independently manage and coordinate the children’s schedules

  • Autonomously engages children in enriching activities, including facilitating play dates and friendships amongst local peer groups, and participates in idea sharing and collaboration with parents.

  • Oversee household duties, including grocery shopping, running errands, planning meals, and occasionally preparing food.

  • Responsible for organizing the children's belongings, managing seasonal clothing transitions, and packing for family trips.

  • Operate autonomously within the household, making informed decisions and initiating tasks without direct oversight.

  • Work collaboratively with the family to ensure a cohesive and supportive home environment that promotes the children’s development.

  • High level of professionalism and adaptability, particularly with schedule and location flexibility.

  • Engaging personality that fits well with a family-centered approach to care and management.
