Manny for 13-Year-Old | NYC | $35/hour
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a compassionate and reliable manny to serve as a positive male role model for their 13-year-old son. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to mentor a teen during virtual schooling and beyond, providing guidance, encouragement, and support during this important developmental stage. The ideal candidate will build a meaningful connection as a trusted "big brother" figure while fostering confidence and independence.
Schedule & Location
Flexible start date with availability during virtual school hours - 3 days a week, approximately 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The position is based in the family's Brooklyn home, with opportunities for outdoor activities as comfort level develops.
Responsibilities
Support and oversee virtual school participation and academic engagement
Provide companionship and positive male role modeling in a big brother/buddy capacity
Gradually encourage participation in enjoyed activities like basketball and other interests
Create a supportive environment that helps build confidence and independence
Maintain open communication with parents regarding child's progress and needs
Provide a consistent, stable presence in the child's routine
Requirements
Understanding of and sensitivity to anxiety in teens
Patient and empathetic approach to relationship building
Background in education or child development preferred
Interest in sports/basketball would be beneficial
Strong communication skills to maintain regular updates with parents
Reliable and consistent availability for scheduled hours
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $35/hour (depending on schedule there is some flexibility)
