After-School Nanny Needed in Creative Clinton Hill Home

Job Title: Part-Time After-School Nanny

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 7 PM, with flexibility for one day to end at 6 PM. Additional hours as needed for occasional date nights.

Compensation: $25-35 per hour

Position Overview: A Brooklyn family seeks a proactive and independent part-time nanny to care for their artistic 9-year-old daughter after school. The ideal candidate should be capable of balancing professional childcare skills with a hands-on approach. While the focus is on the youngest child, the family also has two independent teens who do not require direct supervision but are part of the family dynamic.

Primary Responsibilities:

Pick up the daughter from school and manage safe transitions to home or activities.
Support with after school organization; empty backpack, ensure permission slips make it to mom and dad, clean out lunch boxes, etc…
Engage in activities that not only entertain but also foster responsibility and enrich her development.
Prepare and plan nutritious, home-cooked meals.
Modeling tidy habits and light cleaning to ensure a peaceful living environment (family has a housekeeper).

Additional Tasks:

Occasionally assist with family errands or tasks as needed.
Be available for extended hours or during special family occasions.

Desired Qualities:

Fluent English speaker.
Experience in childcare, with a preference for candidates who have worked with dyslexia or neurodivergent needs.
Capable of working autonomously and making informed decisions, ideal for a household where parents work from home but prefer not to micromanage daily activities.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards childcare and household management.

Requirements:

Willingness to undergo a background check.
Excellent references from previous employers.
Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is a plus.
