Position Overview: Seeking an experienced childcare provider for Summer 2025 (late June through August) to create an unforgettable summer experience for a 10-year-old boy in Southampton. The role focuses on creating engaging camp-style activities and outdoor adventures, with occasional interaction with two older siblings (12 and 16) who primarily attend sleep-away camp. Perfect for those with experience in camps, sports instruction, or recreational activities! This position combines traditional childcare with the excitement of a summer camp counselor, emphasizing fun, active engagement, and memorable experiences.

Schedule: 40+ hours per week, variable schedule

  • Typical weekday schedule begins with camp pickup around noon

  • Weekend and overnight responsibilities included

  • Two non-consecutive days off per week

  • Schedule varies based on family needs and activities

Compensation:

  • $30-35+ per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

  • Projected base compensation: $9,600-$11,200+ for the summer

  • Significant overtime potential

  • Room and board included

  • Use of family vehicle for activities

  • Grocery allowance with family credit card

  • Relocation costs covered if needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary childcare for a 10-year-old boy

  • Handle daily camp pickup and post-camp activities

  • Plan and supervise engaging afternoon activities and adventures

  • Coordinate and supervise outdoor recreational activities

  • Provide occasional support for older siblings when they're home from sleep-away camp

  • Manage weekend and overnight care responsibilities

  • Maintain clear communication with family regarding schedules and activities

  • Ensure safe transportation to and from activities

Additional Tasks:

  • Coordinate with family regarding schedule changes

  • Plan engaging outdoor and recreational activities

  • Maintain organization of activity equipment and supplies

  • Document daily activities and important information for parents

Desired Qualities:

  • Athletic and high-energy personality

  • Strong swimming abilities

  • Experience with outdoor sports and activities

  • Background in lacrosse, swimming, fishing, or tennis preferred

  • Excellent activity planning and coordination skills

  • Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes

  • Independent decision-making capabilities

  • Comfortable with pets (cat-friendly)

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with school-age children

  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

  • Ability to commit through late August 2025
