MVP Manny Needed
Job Title: Full-Time Manny (Male Nanny) for Active Boys
Location: Brooklyn (Park Slope) NY
Start Date: Flexible, ideally before September 5, 2024 (school start date)
Schedule:
Minimum: Monday through Thursday, after-school hours
Full position: Approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility
Compensation: $35 hour
Position Overview: We are seeking an energetic, creative, and dedicated Manny to care for our two boys, ages 11 and 13 (6th and 8th grade). The ideal candidate will provide after-school care, support their academic and extracurricular activities, and contribute to overall household management. This role requires someone who can maintain a consistent routine, encourage physical activity, and adapt to the unique learning styles of each child.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide after-school care and supervision for two boys
Maintain and encourage daily routines, including physical activities
Support and facilitate participation in travel soccer and other extracurricular activities
Assist with homework and academic support, adapting to individual learning differences
Implement creative organization and motivation strategies
Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behavior and personal growth
Additional Tasks:
Meal preparation for the children
Managing kids' laundry
General house management and organization
Running errands and shopping as needed
Building and maintaining home organizational systems
Desired Qualities:
Mindful and patient approach to childcare
Creativity in problem-solving and activity planning
Enthusiasm for exploring different methods of organization and motivation
Strong focus on positive reinforcement techniques
Ability to manage occasional challenging behaviors, especially related to physical stimulation
Interest in sports, particularly soccer
Adaptability and flexibility in daily routines
Strong communication skills with both children and parents
Requirements:
Proven experience in childcare, preferably with pre-teens and teenagers
Background in social work, education, or related field preferred
Understanding of learning differences and adaptive teaching methods
Physical ability to engage in active play and sports with the children
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent references and willingness to undergo a background check
